Most people on business trips tend to be cautious about their arrival time at the airport to catch a flight. So they often arrive well in advance and the wait can be long. We propose three activities you can do at the airport to optimise time management while waiting for your flight.
1. Learn
Professionals in any field have to periodically update their knowledge, expand their training, etc. The problem is that finding time for it is sometimes complicated. What better time than when waiting at the airport? Tutorials, videos, eBooks, specialised press... There are many options, especially if you have a smartphone and/or tablet. Of course, it doesn’t have to be work-related; it can be a hobby: improving skills in a language, learning poker strategies, discovering recipes...
2. Shopping and wellness
Many airports have a wide selection of shops you can visit. You can find products at attractive prices in duty-free shops, but you can also find out more about the latest publications, gadgets and trends in technology, regional products or fashion... It is also becoming more common to find other establishments in the shopping area, such as beauty salons, spas and hairdressers. An ideal way to pamper yourself and start your trip in the right frame of mind.
3. Resting
A short nap (no more than 20 or 30 minutes) in an ergonomic chair will help you recharge your batteries and start your business trip rested. But beware of pickpockets, who might seize the opportunity; and also make sure you don't sleep too long. It is best to set an alarm on your mobile to be sure you don’t miss your flight. You can also access a lounge or VIP room (after paying for it if it is not included in the price of your ticket). You can relax, have a drink, use a computer for last-minute questions... All in a more relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.
